JVA conference in Loughborough

Kitty and Amanda went to the JVA conference in Loughborough a few weekends ago and had a wonderful time.  This conference combines a great atmosphere friendly and fun, with fantastic talks and workshops.  We gave two workshops on ‘how to value coloured stones’ which were very well received and made all the hard work we put into preparing them so worthwhile.  We both attended some great workshops, I attended one about valuing 19TH century antique jewellery which involved handling some wonderful pieces of jewellery and the difference in retail verses auction prices were discussed.  Darren Sherwood’s workshop on the mystery of manufacturing was very informative if not somewhat frightening. All in all it was a fantastic weekend with great people and we couldn’t recommend it enough!
